14 tips if you are trying to book yourself on other people’s podcasts 🎤 1️⃣ Whilst recording, don’t pitch, but you can mention your product/service where relevant in the conversation 2️⃣ Mention your own #podcast at the end of the recording (if you have one!) 3️⃣ Track all numbers like a sales funnel 4️⃣ Make sure you listen and call out a specific episode in your outreach 5️⃣ Use OwlTail to find shows that you competitors have been on that could be good for you 6️⃣ Mention how you plan to promote the episode in your outreach 7️⃣ Start with less popular shows to improve your skills 8️⃣ Use Podstatus to see if a show ranks in Apple Podcasts: most reliable way to see how popular a show is 9️⃣ Reach out through multiple channels: email, Linkedin, Twitter 🔟 Ask the host for backlinks to your social profiles and website from the episode page on their site 1️⃣1️⃣ Track qualitative feedback from Linkedin DM’s and also ask people in your sales funnel how they found you 1️⃣2️⃣ Outreach to a consistent number of shows per week and have someone else in your team do it as you 1️⃣3️⃣ Ultimately aim to record and have 1 guest episode released per week 1️⃣4️⃣ Run the process for a minimum of six months before making a judgment on ROI Any I’ve missed? 🤓 Jakub Zajicek Mark Colgan 🇵🇹

BONUS TIP: Add the episode onto your own podcast feed if you share unique insights... this gives you more content whilst giving the hosts show exposure to your audience 📈 Here is an example: https://podcasts.bcast.fm/e/489z219n-dr-pele-raymond Shout out to Dr. Pelè for having me on his show for this one ☝️

Great list, Tom! I’d add a few things though… 1. ALWAYS follow up - Most of the interviews we book for our customers come from followups. If you lead with value, hosts will actually appreciate you for being so persistent! 2. Nurture the relationship after - Podcast interview is not just an interview. It’s a networking opportunity. Send a thank you video after the episode, propose another meeting, send a gift. :) 3. Be patient - It takes around 3 months to see SOME results because of the channel nature. Outreach, scheduling, recording, editing, publishing… it all takes time. If you need immediate results, podcast guesting is probably not for you! 🤘
