    Have you been trying to get your CEO or Founder to create content? "I had the same objections all your CEOs are going to have; I don't want to be famous, I don't want to get on the social treadmill, I don't want to post everyday, I'm not going to start tweeting against the best people in the world...I just don't want to do it." - Adam Robinson But here's the thing: 1. In the beginning, you don't ahve to do this yourself. Adam utilized a ghostwriter in the beginning because they knew things he didn't. They knew the algo, how to grab attention, and how to drive engagement. He learned the fundamentals of how to craft good content by utilizing help from a ghostwriter and then began doing it himself to create more authentic thought leadership. 2. Being "known well" by your ICP as a thought leader in the space makes everything so much easier.     Intercom recently announced a website redesign and took a lot of heat for it. Being a B2B marketer, I had to weigh in, but I didn't want to get it wrong, so there was only one logical choice... I asked ChatGPT to tell me what it thought: 1. The new visual aesthetic seems to prioritize style over substance. 2. While the redesign aims to modernize the user experience, it appears to complicate rather than simplify user interactions. 3. They're trying to "fix what isn't broken" (It clearly has access to Twitter) So what does this have to do with owned media? Pushing boundaries. Anytime you do something different and try and push an industry forward, you're going to get mixed reactions. We just heard Colin Fleming say there were doubters when they launched Salesforce+. A couple years and $600 million in generated pipeline later, the doubters aren't so loud. Marketers: Continue pushing the boundaries! Intercom: Kudos on a job well done!

    𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐧𝐨 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫! Someone has cracked the B2B (cheat)code on how to win in your space! And is giving it all away for free! Sorry for the long intro, but it's an important part of the story, and what every business leader needs to understand. ➖ ➖ ➖ After a decade in the B2B agency world, in 2017 I joined my first B2B SaaS company to help them achieve their business goals. Here are my learnings and mistakes + reading several books, joining dozens of events, listening to 100s of podcasts and reading 1000s of articles on the topic. It all boils down to 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 that separates the companies that win or lose in their space. 2017: I joined as a Product Manager because I thought building the right product would be the ONE thing that would separate us from the crowd. 2018: I focused more on “Sales and Market readiness” of the product, because I thought translating features to value (so Sales and Marketing know how to talk about it) would be the ONE thing that would separate us from the crowd. 2019: I read a research from Gartner “The new B2B buying journey” that changed everything. Companies spend only 4 % of the time on the buying process speaking to vendors directly (their sales team), and the rest of the time researching on their own. That ONE thing was to know how to EDUCATE the market. 2020: I started as Product Marketing Manager, obsessing about Saas companies that did that ONE thing really well, and tried to understand WHAT they were doing. Learning from Drift, Hubspot, Gainsight, Salesforce and the likes, it was very clear what they were doing. Crafting a strong story was that ONE thing. 2021: I learned that ONE thing was the ability to create and Implement a Strategic Narrative. But it wasn’t easy, because you needed to play the long-game. 2022: Several macro events (e.g. war on Ukraine, Inflation, Supply squeeze) hit the Software industry hard, and redundancy and cash-flow prevented long-term strategic initiatives. 2023: I still was struggling with the HOW, and implementing it in a way that would rally the whole organisation towards the same goal. But Todd Clouser, who had been randomly popping up in my feed the last few years, started to connect the dots with companies such as Refine Labs, Cognism, HockeyStack, AudiencePlus - together with his buddy Obaid Durrani. 2024: After going a bit under the radar for a couple of years, they went all in and launched the Easy Mode Framework 🚀 last week on the Goldenhour event, hosted by AudiencePlus. Done correctly, this is actually the 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 that will separate your business from the crowd. The Easy Mode framework will help drive all conversations your prospects need to have before talking to sales. Hence the name 𝘌𝘢𝘴𝘺 𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦. The opposite is the “The Hard Mode Framework” where nobody talks about you, that will get you nowhere. If you are new to B2B Marketing, master this, and you will master B2B Marketing. #easymode #b2bmarketing
